Fresh Turnips with Cream Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 dash pepper, nutmeg, salt
  • 1 pound fresh turnips
  • 3 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

Cut fresh turnips into strips like french fries.

Add water to sauce pan and bring to boil.

Add turnip stips and reduce to low heat.

Cook uncovered, 15-20 minutes.

Drain.

Make cream sauce and pour over turnips.

Season with seasonings.
