Banana Cake

  • 2 9" pans
  • 3/4 cup crisco
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups bananas (4-5)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup sour milk
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • Butter Icing
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • confectioner sugar
  • vanilla flavoring

Preparation

Step 1

Mash bananas and add 1 tsp. lemon juice. Cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs and bananas and blend. Sift in flour, baking soda and salt alternately with sour milk. Add vanilla.

Bake in a moderate oven..350-375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool and serve.
