Ingredients
- Double Crust:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 6-7 tbsp cold water
- Apple Pie Filling:
- 6 cup sliced, peeled apples (2lb)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- dash nutmeg
- dash apple pie spice
- butter under crust
- Egg Wash:
- 1 Tbsp heavy cream, half and half, or milk
- 1 large egg yolk
Preparation
Step 1
Combine everything together for crust. Combine everything together for apple pie filling.
Combine ingredients for egg wash.
Heat oven to 375. Bake pie for 25 minutes with foil around edges. Remove foil and bake another 20-25 minutes.
