Ingredients
- Mix thoroughly:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 tlb sugar
- 1 egg
- Blend In:
- 1 cup dark molasses
- 1 cup baking water
- Sift together & Stir in:
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon

Step 1
Pour into well greased pan (9" sq or tube).
Bake 325 for 45-50 minutes.
Serve with applesauce, butter or whipped cream.
