Green Beans with Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs fresh green beans
  • olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup apple cider
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Wash green beans. Snap ends. Place in steamer and cook for 5 minutes in the microwave. This is tender-crisp. Set aside.

Drizzle oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook until carmelized, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add cider, raise heat to med-high. Cook until liquid is reduced and syrupy, about 5 minutes. Add green beans. Toss evenly to coat. Add salt and pepper.
