Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 lb. extra-lean ground beef
  • 1/4 cup KRAFT Light Mayo Reduced Fat Mayonnaise, divided
  • 1 pkg. (1-1/4 oz.) TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1/2 cup KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Colby & Monterey Jack Cheese
  • 1/4 cup TACO BELL® HOME ORIGINALS® Thick 'N Chunky Salsa, divided
  • 6 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 6 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, cut into 6 slices

Preparation

Step 1

HEAT greased grill to medium-high heat.

MIX meat, 3 Tbsp. mayo and seasoning mix; shape into 12 thin patties. Combine cheese and 2 Tbsp. salsa; spoon onto 6 patties. Cover with remaining patties; pinch edges to seal.

GRILL 7 min. on each side or until done (160ºF). Meanwhile, combine remaining salsa and mayo.

FILL buns with lettuce, tomatoes, burgers and salsa mixture.


Make Ahead
Stuffed patties can be stored in refrigerator up to 4 hours before grilling as directed.

Substitute
Substitute 93% lean ground turkey for the ground beef.
