Steak Parmesan

By

“Grandma added classic Italian flair to cube steak with a seasoned breading, zesty marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.”

Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3/4 cup Italian-style seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 beef cube steaks (5–6 ounces each)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/3 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the egg and milk in a large shallow bowl. Combine the bread crumbs and Parmesan in a large shallow dish.

Sprinkle the steaks with the salt and flour. Coat the steaks in the egg, then the bread crumb mixture.

Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the steaks. Cook until golden brown on both sides, 8–10 minutes.

Spoon the marinara sauce over the steaks. Sprinkle with the mozzarella. Cover the skillet and cook until the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes longer.
