Ingredients
- Orange Frosting:
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 1 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
- 2 Eggs
- 2/3 Cup Canned Pumpkin
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 Cup Flour
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Walnuts
- 3 Tbs. Shortening
- 2 1/4 Cups Powdered Sugar
- 3 Tbs. Orange Juice
- 1 Tbs. Grated Orange Peel
- Candy Pumpkins for Garnish

Step 1
In a large bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat eat in pumpkin and vanilla. Combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts. Spread into a greased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. In a large bowl, beat the shortening, powdered sugar, orange juice and orange peel until blended. Frost cooled bars, cut into squares and top with candy pumpkins. Yield: 2 dozen.
