Ingredients

  • 5 cups blueberries
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 pie deep dish pie crust (pre-maid or homemade)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle berries with lemon juice; set aside.

Combine 1 cup sugar, flour, salt, & cinnamon. Add to the berries and toss.

Pour into pie shell and dot butter around the pie.

Place top shell on pie. Seal & crimp the edges. Cut slits in the top of crust to allow the stem to escape.

Brush top shell with beaten egg & sprinkle with the 1 tsp of sugar.

Bake @ 400* for 35 minutes or until golden.

Cover edges with aluminum foil to prevent over browning.

Serve with vanilla ice cream :)
