Red cabbabe with apples

Ingredients

  • 2 tart apples, sliced
  • 3 T. butter
  • 1 medium red cabbage, coarsely shredded
  • 1/4 c. red wine vinegar
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Cook and stir apples in butter in dutch oven over medium heat, 5 minutes.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Heat to boiling, then reduce heat
Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender - maybe 35 to 40 minutes.
