Tourtière

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion
  • 11/2 lb ground pork - or pork and beef
  • 1-2 diced potatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp sage (or thyme)
  • pastry

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together and cook for 25 minutes. Allow to cool. Spoon into a pie crust and cover with pastry. Cook in 450°F (230°C) oven for 15 minutes. Lower temperature to 350°F (177°C) and cook for another 10-15 minutes.

Jacquie's recipe omits potato and includes a can of cream of chicken.
