Ingredients
- Stage 1:
- 5 lb flour
- 4 pkg yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 3 cups scald milk
- Stage 2:
- 2 1/8 cup melted margarine
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tsp salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 lb currents
- 1 lbs raisins
- 1/2 lb citron
- 1/2 lb almonds (fine)
- butter
- confectioners sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350
Make a dough from first stage ingredients: put flour in large container and make a dent. Dissolve yeast in water, add to lukewarm milk-put into dent. Stir in enough flour to make a "Brei".
Rise fo 20-30 minutes.
Add stage 2 ingredients, knead. Add fruit and nuts.
Let rise until double. Punch down and cut, shape and put onto greased and dusted sheet.
Rise to double. (1/2-3/4 hours)
Bake on 350 for 1/2 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
Brush with butter, sprinkle with confectioners sugar.
