Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork sausage (Sage flavor is best)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 - 1 tsp dry sage rubbed between your hands to breakdown
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Preparation
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium high heat, saute the sausage for 10 minutes, or until browned. Stir in the butter until well blended, then stir in the flour until mixture is thick and pasty. Add garlic and sage. Stir occasionally and brown brown flour for 3 minutes
Reduce heat to medium and add the milk a 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly, until it simmers and then add next 1/2 until mixture all mike is added. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
