Ingredients
- Stuffing:
- 20 jumbo shells
- 1 lb. italian sausage
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup shredded mozarella
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
- 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper
- Sauce:
- 1 can (29 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozarella
Preparation
Step 1
Cook and drain shells.
Stuffing:
Brown and drain sausage and onion.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Stuff shells and arrange in 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish.
Combine sauce ingredients and mix well.
Pour sauce over shells.
Cover and bake at 350 F for 40 minutes.
Uncover and sprinkle with cheese.
Return to oven for 5 minutes to melt cheese.
