  • 2 c flour
  • 2 c quick cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 c firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 c melted butter
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 2 14-oz pkgs caramels
  • 2/3 c half and half


Servings 24


Step 1

Stir together first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add butter and stir till crumbly. Reserve 1/2 of mixture. Press other half into bottom of a lightly greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips and nuts.

Microwave caramels and half and half at 505 power for 4 mins. Stir and microwave at 50% power 3 more minutes or until smooth. Let stand 1 minute. Pour evenly over chocolate chips. Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.

Bake 30 mins at 350 until light golden brown. Cook in pan and cut into bars.
