Apple Dumplings

  • Apples
  • 4 granny smith apples,peeled, cored and diced
  • 1/3 cup of sugar plus 1 tsp cinnamon ( to toss apples)
  • Dumplings
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
  • Sauce
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon



Step 1

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.Butter a 7x11 inch baking pan. Separate biscuit dough into 8 pieces. Flatten each piece of dough into a circle with a rolling pin.Place a heaping spoonful of apples in the center of each biscuit, wrap edges to make a seam and place biscuits down on seam side in pan.Place remaining diced apples around the biscuits.Sprinkle cinnamon on top of biscuits.
3.In small bowl, combine white and brown sugar, water, melted butter, vanilla and cinnamon set aside.
4.Bake 35 to 40 minutes,or until golden.Remove from oven and pour sauce around biscuits and Bake for a additional 10 minutes. Serve hot with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream
