Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. medium width noodles
- 1/2 lb. cream cheese
- 1/4 lb. plus 1 1/2 T. unsalted butter
- 1/2 c. sugar, plus 1/8 c.
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 1/2 t. vanilla
- 4 lg. eggs
- 1/4 c. canned crushed pineapple, drained
- 2 oz. walnuts or pecans
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
Cook noodles, drain and put in 2 qt. bowl
Put cream chees, 1/4 lb. butter in processor, blend until smooth.
Add 1/2 c. sugar and process until well combined.
Add sour cream, vanilla and eggs and prosess until well mixed.
Fold into bowl of noodles, stir in pineapple
Grease pryex dish, pour in noodles mix, cover with plastic wrap overnight
Remove about 1 hour prior to baking. Preheat oven to 350 and bake for about 40 minutes
Combine nuts with remaining 1/6 cup of sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of kugel.
Dot with remaining 1T of butter, and bake another 20 minutes.
Serve warm or room temp
