Hot Spiced Cider

Great for holiday parties. Makes the house smell nice too.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 jar (about .8 oz) mulling spices
  • -or-
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole allspice berries
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 gallon cider
  • 1 gallon apple juice

Preparation

Step 1

Wrap spices in cheesecloth and secure with cooking twine. Put in pot with spices. Add all slices of orange, including ends. Boil for about 30 minutes before serving. You may wish to remove the spices after a couple of hours, as the flavor continues to get stronger.
