Moroccan Supper

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 T oil
  • 1 ⁄2 c chopped onion
  • 2 T bottle minced garlic
  • 2 c water
  • 1 t cumin
  • 1 ⁄4 t cinnamon
  • 1 box Rice a Roni pilaf flavor
  • 1 can chick peas, drained
  • 16 oz broccoli,thawed
  • 1 ⁄4 c golden raisins, optional
  • 2 oz bag slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 ⁄4 c cilantro

Preparation

Step 1

In large saucepan, brown ground beef. Drain & remove from saucepan. In same pan,heat oil & sauté onion, garlic, & rice. Slowly stir in 2 cups water, cumin, cinnamon, & Rice a Roni seasoning. Bring to boil;reduce heat & simmer 10 more minutes. Stir in peas, broccoli, raisins, & ground beef. Cover & simmer 10 more min. Top servings with almonds & cilantro.
