Waffles - made with yeast

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 3/4 cup lukewarm milk, scalded and cooled
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tea. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 2 cups flour

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth. Cover and let rise in warm place for 1 1/2 hours (low temperature in oven with door ajar works well).

Stir down better. Cover again and refrigerate overnight. Cook pert waffle iron directions.
