Italian Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 3 medium onions, chopped (about 2 1/4 cups)
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 14 1/2 oz. cans diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 29 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 12 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp. dried basil
  • 1 tbsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cook beef, onions, mushrooms, and garlic in skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes. Drain. Transfer to slow cooker.

2. Stir in remaining ingredients.

3. Cover. Cook on low 8-9 hours.

Note: This is also a good sauce to use in lasagna.
