Peas and Spaghetti

Little kids pick the peas out first and give the adults a chance to eat.

Ingredients

  • to taste:
  • 2 medium onions diced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 can tomato paste (I use regular paste, the ones with basil and oregano added make is sweeter tasting.)
  • 1 quart of water
  • juice from 1 can of peas (16 oz can)
  • 1 can peas (16 oz)
  • 4 cups (about 1/2 pound) spaghetti
  • • salt
  • • pepper
  • • garlic salt
  • • basil

Preparation

Step 1

1. Dice onions and brown slightly in 1/4 cup olive oil.

2. Add tomato paste, 1 quart of water and juice from 1 can of peas to pot.

3. Simmer for 10 minutes.

4. Add peas and simmer for 5 more minutes.

5. Add 4 cups spaghetti (broken into 2 inch pieces).

6. Cook until spaghetti is done. If it gets to thick add a little more water.

7. Add the following to taste: - salt, - pepper, - garlic salt and - basil.

8. This recipe can be easily doubled or triple for serving of 4 or 6.
