Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 2 cups chopped onions
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 1/2 cup flour and 2 to 3 tbsp chicken soup base
- 2 to 2 1/2 cups milk (more if no gravy)
- 1 can turkey gravy
- 1 tsp ground savory (if you don't like use another spice)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 to 6 cups chicken or turkey cooked and chopped
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in heavy pot, fry the next three vegetables until tender, 10 to 15 minutes. Add flour and stir well and cook for a few minutes, add milk gradually to make a cream sauce, stirring all the time.
Cook for a few minutes, add seasonings and chicken or turkey and gravy (if using).
Bake in double crust at 425 degrees for 10 minutes , lower oven to 375 and continue baking for 20 to 25 minutes or until cooked though.
