Omi's Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • sugar to roll cookies in

Preparation

Step 1

Beat shortening until creamy and beat in sugar. Add eggs and molasses, beat. Add sifted dry mix 1/4cup at a time. Form teaspoon sized balls and roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on bake sheet. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes. Remove and cool on baking rack.
