APPLESAUCE CAKE

I use a 24-ounce jar of applesauce.

Ingredients

• 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 cups unsweetened apple sauce (I use a 24-ounce jar)
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon allspice
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon clove
• 1/2 teaspoon soda
• 2-1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• nuts, raisins or dates if desired

Preparation

Step 1

Pour into a 9x13 inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 min or until done.
