Ingredients
- 2 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups (12 oz. package) semisweet chocolate morsels
- Red or Green sprinkles (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Grease or line sheets with parchment paper.
Beat egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar; beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in morsels 1/2 cup at a time. Drop by level tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle lightly with sugar, if desired.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until meringues are dry and crisp. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Store in airtight containers.
