Sour Cream Coffee Cake
- 1/2 c shortening
- 3/4 c sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 eggs
- 2 c flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 pint commercial sour cream
- 3 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 c brown sugar, packed
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 c chopped nuts
Mix topping until crumbly and reserve.
Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.
Add eggs, singly, beating well after each.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with sour cream, blending well after each addition.
Spread half of batter in 10 in tube pan that has been greased and lined on the bottom with waxed paper.
Sprinkle half of topping over batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes or until done.
Can also bake in a large cake pan.
