QUICK CHILI SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 3 quarts chopped ripe tomatoes
  • 3 cups chopped celery
  • 2 cups chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 cup salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix above ingredients; let set overnight or at least 8 hours. Drain.
Add the following to the mixture: 2 cups white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, 1 1/2 tablespoons mixed spices (tied in a cloth) and 1 cup white vinegar.
Bring to boil and simmer 15 minutes. Put in jars and seal at once.
