Ingredients

  • 3 T melted butter divided
  • 6 peeled russet potatoes (2 pds) cut in 1/8 inch slices
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3/4 c shredded Swiss or cheddar or cheese of your choice
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 c low fat 2% milk

Preparation

Step 1

preheat oven to 425
spread an 11x7 in pan with 1 T butter
arrange half the potatoes in the dish, sprinkle with half the garlic and drizzle 1 T butter, half the cheese and salt and pepper
repeat layers
pour hot milk over potatoes
bake 45 mins or till potatoes are tender, milk is absorbed and top is brown
