Ingredients
- Brown Sugar Glaze:
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tsp vinegar
- Meatloaf:
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp hot sauce
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 lb ground chuck
- 1/2 lb ground pork
- 1/2 lb ground veal
- 2/3 cup crushed saltine crackers, about 16
- 1/3 cup minced parsley
Preparation
Step 1
Mix brown sugar glaze ingredients in small sauce pan heat until sugar is melted then set aside.
Heat oven to 350 degrees
In saute pan add onions, garlic and oil on medium heat until softened. Set aside and cool.
Mix eggs, salt, pepper, thyme, mustard, worcestershire, milk and any remaining ingredients together.
Add meat, crackers, cooked onion, garlic and mix.
If meat sticks to pan add small amount of milk.
Wet hands and place mixture into a 9x5 loaf pan. Brush on 1/2 of the glaze on top. Bake until crisp about 1 hour.
Cool at least 20 min before serving and serve with remaining glaze.
