Ingredients
- 9 oz. bittersweet chocolate chopped
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup plus 6 tbsp. sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup apricot preserves

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Butter and flour a 8x8x2 metal baking pan. Melt chocolate and butter in a heavy sauce pan over medium heat, stirring often. Cool to lukewarm. Beat sugar and eggs in a large bowl until well blended. Whisk in melted chocolate mixture. Sift flour, baking powder and salt over the bowl, fold to blend. Transfer batter to baking pan, sprinkle with walnuts and press gently into batter.
Bake about 45 minutes. Melt apricot preserves then strain. Brush over brownies, cool for 1 hour. Then refrigerate another 2 hours.
