Ingredients
- 2 fresh jalapenos
- 4 oz. bacon diced
- 3/4 cup panko
- 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 2 cups whole milk, heated just below simmer
- 12 oz..sharp cheddar
- Penne
Preparation
Step 1
Roast jalapenos under broiler until skins blister
Place in plastic bag let sit. When cool skin and seed. Dice and set aside
Cook bacon transfer to bowl. Add breadcrumbs. Add small amount bacon fat. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Add flour and whisk. Gradually whisk in milk. Continue cooking until sauce is thickened. Let bubble gently for 10 minutes. Stir often. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar. Season with salt. Preheat oven to 350. Cook pasta mix together and bake
