Cheese Puffs

For extra easy puffs. In a mixing bowl, beat the chee3se, 3/4 cup butter, mustard and onion powder until very light and fluffy. Spread on bread slices; bake as shown in recipe. Cut each slice into 4 squares or triangles.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 tea. ground mustard
  • 1/4 tea. onion powder
  • 1 loaf (1 lb) sliced sandwich bread

Preparation

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg, cheese, butter, mustard and onion powder until smooth. Spread two slices of bread with cheese mixture; stack together and cover with a third slice. cut off crusts. Cut sandwich into four squares or triangles. spread top and sides (not bottoms) with some of the cheese mixture. Repeat with remaining slices and remaining cheese mixture. Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and freeze. Remove and store in a resealable plastic bag.

To serve, place on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until browned. Serve hot.
