- 1 T olive oil
- a few dashes of liquid smoke
- 4 Vegan Gardein Burgers, defrosted
- 1 red onion, chopped
- 1/2 t tamari
- 1/2 c shredded daiya cheese (I used pepper jack)plus 1/8 cup for top
- 1/2 cup bisquick
- 1 cup almond milk
- ener-g egg replacer (2 eggs worth),made per the instructions on box
- 1 T nutritional yeast
preheat oven to 400.
Spray a 9inch pie plate with a light coating on cooking spray.
Heat olive oil and liquid smoke in a skillet over medium heat. Brown burger patties and red onion. Cut up the patties as they are cooking with your spatula, into bite size pieces. Add in the tamari and cook till the onion is translucent and the patties have a slight crisp on the edges. Scrape up any pieces that stick to pan, these have great flavor.
Spread the burger and onion into the pie pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of cheese over the patties and onion . Sprinkle the nutritional yeast over the top of the cheese.
In a bowl, mix the bisquick, milk, and egg replacer till blended. Pour into pie plate. Sprinkle with 1/8 cup of cheese.
Bake for 25 minuets, or till you can poke the center with a toothpick and it comes out clean.
Serve with mustard, ketchup and pickles on the side
