Mom's Apple Pie

  • 1/2 plus 1/3 Cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Tbls. Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 2 Tbs. Butter
  • 3 Lbs Sliced Peeled Apples
  • Juice 1 Lemon



Step 1

Place apples in large bowl.
In small bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Pour sugar mixture over apples and squeeze juice of one lemon. Mix well then put apples in pie dish lined with unbaked crust. Dot with butter.
Cover with top crust and slit in several places pinch edges. You can also do an egg wash on top crust prior to baking. Bake at 375 for 50 minutes or until crust is golden.
