LEMONY FLANK STEAK

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb flank steak or top sirloin
  • 1 tsp grated lemon peel
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp soya sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp fresh oregano
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Score meat by making shallow cuts at 1" intervals in a diamond pattern on both sides. Place meat in a plastic bag set into a shallow dish. In 1 cup glass measuring cup, stir rest together. Pour marinade over meat, close bag. Marinate in fridge for 2 hours or overnight. Drain meat and reserve marinade. Grill steak on uncovered grill for 12-14 minutes (medium heat) turning once and brushing occasionally with marinade. Slice thinly across the grain.
