APPLE PIE

Recipe from Archibald family. Toby says this is as close to Grandma Jenny's as he has ever tasted.

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, peeled and sliced (use 3 Granny Smith and 3 Red Delicious)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • pie shell - top and bottom
  • butter
  • milk
  • extra sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Peel and slice apples into large bowl. Mix sugar and cinnamon. Stir into apples.

Put mixture into pie shell. Slice 6 little dabs of butter and put over apples.

Cover with top crust and seal edges. Brush top crust with milk and sprinkle sugar over top. Slice vents into top crust.

Bake at 450F for 10 minutes; Reduce heat to 350F and bake for 30 minutes.
