Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs stew meat
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation
Step 1
Trim beef of excess fat. Cut into 3/4 inch cubes. Dust with flour.
Heat oil in a large saucepan. Brown beef in 2 batches, adding a little oil if needed. Remove meat.
Stir in the onion. Cook for 5 min until soft. Add garlic cook for 1 minute longer. Add the browned beef, ketchup, celery, broth, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, mustard pepper and lemon juice. Stir until combined thoroughly..Bring to a boil. Lower heat to simmer. Cook covered for 1 1/2 hours. Add a little water or broth if the mixture becomes to thick.
Serve with potatoes and green salad.
