Ingredients
- 3 lbs green tomatoes
- 3 lbs apples
- 3 1/2 lbs sugar
- 2 lbs raisins
- 2 lemons
- 2 tsp slat
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp cloves
- 1 Tbsp nutmeg

Preparation
Step 1
Put the tomatoes through the food chopper or meat grinder (coarse blade) and let the juices run off.
Scald twice before using and discard the water and drain well.
A chopper knife is also good and makes a nice job on the apples.
I always cut the whole lemon up either with the knife or grinder.
I never used quite so much spice.
If doubling the recipe, 7 lbs of tomatoes and 7 lbs of apples may be used.
