Ahhhhh….. Fall is here. The air is crisp and cool. The leaves are changing colors. BUT, best of all it is apple picking season!! My family and some friends went apple picking today. There is nothing like a fresh apple picked right off of the tree! However, it is easy to get carried away and over pick – which only means one thing – APPLE RECIPES! You have heard me cook with my sister, my kids, my niece and my almost-niece… but today was a special treat – I got to cook with my husband! Adam is my best taste tester and my best critic. When I told him I wanted to make apple crisp bites (I have a little obsession with bite sized desserts) – he jumped right in to help!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a medium size bowl mix graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and butter with a spoon
Evenly distribute mixture to the 24 mini muffin cups. Press along the bottom and sides to make a “cup”
Mix apples, sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl
Scoop a teaspoon or so of the apple mix and place on top of the graham cracker crust cups (while still in the muffin pan)

How far in advance could I make these? I was hoping to have them at a dinner party on Saturday night but would have to make them Thur or Fri…
Hi Heather!
I made mine on Sunday night and stuck them in the fridge and they are still good today (Wednesday). Of course, the closer you can make them, the better – but delish either way!!

Sound good but I’m tempted to add a layer of cheesecake type mix under the apples too then top that with caramel and then put the apples on top. May have to have a play!
Not at all – I am dying to try these. May have to make a special trip to the store
and the local fruit stand. I just wanted to make sure it really was the mini pans.
If frozen how long to defrost a batch and can or should they be reheated?
I actually didn’t freeze them, but threw them in the fridge and have been enjoying them for days – they don’t even need to be heated up (YUM with ice cream!!)
These look amazing. Would like to make for semi-formal occasion; and wondered if you could use mini-cupcake liners? If so-would you lightly spray them with cooking spray? Thanks
I make something like this with walnuts… these are super cute!
I triedsking these tonight. Just wondering how you got your apples to look so moist. Mine turned out dry. I don’t see anything to add butter or anything to the apple mixture.
I will let you know. It will be next w/e before I make it though
i make apple crisp but I use oatmeal, do you think that would work, it can make a crust if you want.
I can’t figure out how to print this. I looked at directions you gave another person and I still don’t get it.
In order to print just the recipe, highlight what you want then right click and print, make sure you put a chick mark in your printer for just print selection
