Breton Brittle

  • 20 Dare Bretton crackers
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 large pack (300 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Line the bottom and sides of a 15 X 10 in. cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Arrange a layer of Bretton crackers on the foil. Fill in spaces with broken crackers.

In medium saucepan combine sugar and butter. Cook and stir over medium high heat until mixture comes to a boil and appears frothy. Pour mixture evenly over crackers.

Bake in 400 oven for 6 minutes.

Remove form heat and sprinkle with chocolate chips. When chips become soft, spread evenly over cracker mixture. Sprinkle with pecans.

Chill until chocolate is set. Break into pieces to serve.

Keep in refrigerator or frozen.
