GRANDMA GRACE'S HOT ROLLS

Soft, tastey rolls. My Grandma Grace made these EVERY Sunday for lunch! They were renowned throughout the county!

Ingredients

  • 7 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. salt1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1 pint sweet milk, scalded

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour. Put salt, soda and sugar in flour when sifting. Make a hole in the middle of the flour and put in shortening and potatoes; pour in milk and mix like biscuits.

Then let them rise and then work them down. Put in fridge until next day. Roll out and let rise before baking.

Bake in 350F oven for about 30 minutes.
