Ingredients

  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Boil potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain and mash well. Add eggs,flour, and salt. Let cool.
2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Drop small balls of dough into boiling water. Cook 10 minutes. Drain well.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add bread crumbs and sugar and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes,stirring constantly, until crumbs are slightly browned. Toss crumbs with shlishkes.
