Ingredients
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 2 C onions diced
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 1 T grated ginger
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 28oz can plum tomatoes
- 1 19oz can chickpeas rinsed/drained
- 2 C diced sweet potatoes
- 2 C diced carrots
- 1 C diced celery
- 6 C vegetable or chicken broth
- 1 cinnamon stick
- salt and pepper

Preparation
Step 1
heat oil. add garlic and onion. saute 8 minutes. add rest of ingredients except chickpeas. simmer covered 1 hour. puree till chunky.add chickpeas and heat through.
