Combination of caramelized brown sugar and chili powder is fantastic on roasted pecans. For an easy variation, substitute the pecans for unsalted walnut halvesmore
cup packed Brown Sugar
tbsp Chili powder
tsp Cayenne pepper
cups unsalted Pecan halves
In saucepan, melt brown sugar, butter and water together over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 2 minutes. Boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in chili powder, cayenne pepper and cinnamon until combined. Add pecans, stirring until coated. Arrange on parchment paper-lined, or greased, baking sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Let cool enough to handle, then break up any clumps.
