BEER CHEESE

Ingredients

  • 1 (2-lb.) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
  • 3/4 to 1 Cup of beer
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish: thyme sprig

Let the Cheddar cheese stand at room temperature for 30 minutes.

In a medium bowl combine cheese, beer, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until combined. Cover and chill for 2 to 24 hours.

Serve with pita chips.

To make toasted pita chips, halve pita bread rounds crosswise; cut each half into six wedges.

Place on a baking sheet. Toast in a 350 degree F oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until wedges are crisp.
