Toffee Butter Crunch

Ingredients

  • 1 C butter
  • 1 1/3 C sugar
  • 3 T water
  • 1 T light corn syrup
  • 1 C coarsely chopped almonds
  • 4-4 1/2 oz milk chocolate candy bars melted
  • 1 C finely chopped blanched almonds

Preparation

Step 1

In large saucepan, melt butter, add water, sugar and syrup. Cook to hard crack stage (300 degrees) stirring occasionally. Quickly add almonds. Place in 9X13 pan, well greased. Cool thoroughly. Turn out on wax paper. SPread with half of chocolate and almonds. Cover with another piece of wax paper. Invert and spread with remaining chocolate and almonds. Cool and break into pieces.
