Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup nuts
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk (or sour milk)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg
Preparation
Step 1
Mix flour, sugars, oil, spices like pie crust. Reserve 1/2 cup to use as topping - mix topping with nuts. Add remaining ingredients with crust mixture. Beat for 4 minutes.
Put in round cake pans or 13"x9" pan. Sprinkle on topping - may add additional brown sugar to topping.
Bake at 350F for 30 to 40 minutes. Check doneness with toothpick.
