  • 2 EGGS
  • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 1/3 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1 TEASPOON SODA
  • 1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
  • 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
  • FROSTING
  • 1 STICK BUTTER OR MARGARINE
  • 1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
  • 1 SMALL CAN EVAPORATED MILK
  • 1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS
  • 1 CUP COCONUT

Step 1

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES. POUR BOILING WATER OVER OATS AND LET STAND 20 MINUTES.

CREAM BUTTER WITH SUGARS. ADD OATMEAL AND EGGS, ONE AT A TIME, BLENDING WELL AFTER EACH ADDITION. SIFT AND ADD DRY INGREDIENTS. BAKE IN GREASED/FLOURED 9 X 13 PAN AT 350 DEGREES FOR 35-45 MINUTES.

FROSTING
MELT BUTTER. ADD REMAINING INGREDIENTS AND MIX WELL. POUR OVER HOT CAKE. PLACE UNDER BROILER TO MELT, WATCHING CAREFULLY SO FROSTING DOESN'T BURN.
