Chicken Cordon Bleu

Ingredients

  • 6 skinned and boned chicken breast
  • 1 block of gruyere cheese (shredded)
  • ½ pound cooked ham slices, sliced thin from the deli
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • ½ stick butter melted
  • ½ cup flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

Spread chicken breast flat; between wax paper or plastic wrap pound until thin with meat mallet.

Layer ham and cheese between each piece of chicken. Fold breast closed and secure with toothpicks. Dip chicken into egg mixture, then butter, then coat with flour mixture.

Place in a greased baking dish. Cover dish with foil and bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 min. You may uncover and bake for additional time if you would like it more golden.
